Defense contractors are likely most familiar with the ITAR program and its regulations. ITAR applies to items listed on the U.S. Munitions List (USML). However, there are other products, technologies and devices that are not on the USML but which are also regulated but under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and listed on the Commerce Control List (CCL). Some of these items are termed “dual use.” In general terms these items have “civil applications as well as terrorism and military or weapons of mass destruction (WMD)-related applications.” The CCL is extensive – 75 pages, single spaced and the requirements may apply to a wide variety of businesses that are unaware of these requirements and their routine business transactions.

This program will provide an overview of the Export Administration Regulations, examples of items on the CCL, Red Flag questions, licensing requirements and resources.

This event will qualify for one Continuing Professional Education Credit.
