DESCRIPTION:Sections 7(j)(10) and 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 636(j)(10) and 637(a)) authorizes the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a business development program\, which is known as the 8(a) Business Development program. \nBusinesses that participate in the program receive training and technical assistance designed to strengthen their ability to compete effectively in the American economy. Also eligible to participate in the 8(a) program are small businesses owned by Alaska Native corporations\, Community Development Corporations\, Indian tribes\, and Native Hawaiian organizations. Small business development is accomplished by providing various forms of management\, technical\, financial\, and procurement assistance. \nSBA partners with federal agencies to promote maximum utilization of 8(a) program participants to ensure access to contracting opportunities in the federal marketplace. SUMMARY:Townhall: New Grant Funding for Manufacturing in America
DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)\, announced a funding opportunity to empower small businesses\, bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.\, address workforce shortages\, operational inefficiencies\, and limited access to contract opportunities through its Empower to Grow (E2G) Program Manufacturing in America Grant Initiative. The E2G Program will provide up to $1.1 million in grants to eligible participants that submit proposals that are unique and innovative in manufacturing related training and technical assistance to be provided to small businesses\, especially those that are HUBZone firms. The deadline for eligible participants to submit proposals electronically via https://www.grants.gov is May 12\, no later than 11:59 p.m. (EDT). \nClick here to learn more and register.
