SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: The End of the Fiscal Year is Here - What is Hot and What is Not
DESCRIPTION:The federal fiscal year might be winding down but the federal procurement landscape will continue to heat up as we close in on the end of the fiscal year – September 30th. \nLike every year\, there will be challenges. Three of the over-arching issues applicable to the end of the year opportunities are 1) SAM Registration – ensure that your SAM registration is up to date and will remain current through the end of the fiscal year. The end of the year is a fast-paced and time limited. Don’t miss out on an opportunity because your SAM registration has expired. 2. Cyber – this is especially true for companies looking to be involved with DoD. Cyber is important and can be factored into award considerations both by the federal government and by Primes. Review DFARS 252.204-7012 and more importantly DFARS 252.204-7008. 3. DLA Master Solicitation – all companies doing business with or looking to do business with DLA need to read/review the DLA’s Master Solicitation. \nContact the Wisconsin Procurement Institute if you have questions concerning these three items or other questions related to federal procurement. \nAs of August 1st\, it is estimated that slightly greater than 25% of the federal budget will be spent during the last two months of the fiscal year. has yet to be spent procuring goods and services. As a round number 25% equates to roughly $147 Billion dollars or an impressive 10+ million contracts. This is a time of opportunity and one that should not be overlooked. Based upon data from FY 18\, Small Business did well during this time frame and were awarded approximately 30% ($42M) of the contract dollars. \nIn the months of August and September 2018\, there were 274 NAICS codes in which small businesses were awarded 85% or better of the total awards dollars for each of those NAICS codes! Compared to last year’s performance\, small businesses increased the number of NAICS codes for which they received 85% of more by slightly more than 18%. \nThis webinar will provide summary information related to What is Hot and What is Not as the Federal fiscal year comes to an end. Information on significant NAICS codes\, buying activities and methods of purchasing will be reviewed as will a review of the major data sources\, documents and registrations that each company should review and update as needed. \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nTo view a schedule of all upcoming webinars CLICK HERE.

SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: Information Management and Security for Federal Contractors
DESCRIPTION:This is Part 1 of a five part Acquisition Hour: Cyber Security series. \nFederal contractors deal with information from a variety of programs and in many instances the information requires special handling which limit its distribution and/or sharing. \nThe handling and sharing requirements apply to the information in all of its formats – printed\, sketched\, discussed\, or viewable as an end product\, a model or mockup. Protecting this information is a required and essential element of contract compliance. \nThis webinar will provide an overview of the key elements and considerations that should be included when developing processes and procedures that are consistent with the requirements. \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nTo view a schedule of all upcoming webinars CLICK HERE
