SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: Doing Business with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)
DESCRIPTION:The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is agency under the Department of Defense. It is known as “The Nation’s Combat Logistics Support Agency.” It is headquartered at Fort Belvoir\, VA and has various offices and resources located in 48 states and 28 countries. Principle buying locations are located in Columbus\, OH\, Philadelphia\, PA and Richmond\, VA. Principle procurement segments are – Aviation\, Land & Maritime\, Troop Support\, Disposition (Disposal/Reutilization) and Energy. During the course of FY 2018\, DLA awarded contracts valued in excess of $40 Billion for goods and services in over 600 different NAICS codes. Of the more than 3.4 million contracts awarded\, small businesses successfully competed for approximately 66% of these contracts which represents over 14 Billion dollars. Wisconsin small businesses rank 23rd and were awarded roughly 1% of the total value of contracts awarded to small businesses. These existing Wisconsin DLA vendors have blazed a trail and have shown that WI small businesses are up to the challenge and can compete in this market. For companies looking to grow\, increase their sales and federal revenue\, the Defense Logistics Agency is a prospective customer to take note of and definitely one to research and gain a better understanding of how to locate opportunities and what is needed to compete. \nJoin the Wisconsin Procurement Institute’s\, January 16\, 2019 Webinar learn more about DLA and how to compete for DLA opportunities. \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nTo view a schedule of all upcoming webinars CLICK HERE \n
