SUMMARY:Emerging Issues: Regulation Making – the Process and the Important Role Businesses Play
DESCRIPTION:This series\, WPI’s Emerging Issues Series\, is intended as an information tool and resource for contract managers and those with a compliance function. The topics selected for the initial group of Webinars are just some of the important topics. Some have not held the spotlight like others but nevertheless they are important. Others\, such as Innovation and AI have recently emerged and have shown that they are not just a passing curiosity but truly topics of importance that will continue to impact DoD policy and provide procurement opportunities. These topics included in our first group\, are current topics that need attention and need to be addressed. We expect that over time other issues – topics will emerge and come to the forefront. As these topics are identified we will add them to this series. \nGovernment contractors are intimately involved with federal regulations such as the FAR and DFARS. While there is little a company can do about current regulations\, that is not true for future ones. Companies and the general public are invited to provide feedback on proposed rules. Comments are entered into the official record and reviewed. Take time to understand the process and help shape the future of federal contracting. \nPresenter: Marc Violante\, Director\, Federal Market Strategies\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute. \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nFor the list of Emerging Issues webinar\, please click here. \n\nWPI is Wisconsin’s APEX Accelerator

SUMMARY:DOL Offers Online Seminar on Prevailing Wages for Employers and Workers on Federally Funded Projects

The DOL updated the Davis-Bacon Act in October\, in some cases increasing the wages employers need to pay on affected contracts.  The day-long seminar will offer sessions on labor standard protections in the Davis-Bacon Act and the Service Contract Act\, to include how the department sets and administers prevailing wage rules. \nFor more information\, click here.

SUMMARY:Emerging Issues: Industry 4.0 – The Next Generation of the DIB
\nThe DIB and DoD’s expectations for the DIB are changing. Are you ready? Is your shop/facility ready? Your starting point is this webinar and obtaining a broad overview of what Industry 4.0 and what you need to know as manufacturing transitions into the fourth industrial revolution.  \nPresenter: Marc Violante\, Director\, Federal Market Strategies\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute. \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nFor the list of Emerging Issues webinar\, please click here. \n\nWPI is Wisconsin’s APEX Accelerator
