Are there opportunities for IT service providers?
Yes, there are opportunities for Information Technology and Communications companies. Issues such as high levels of competition, dynamic environment, compatibility, and security make this area of sales to the government very complex and challenging.
Open market Information Technology and Communications procurements over $25,000 must be published to the Federal Government’s Contract Opportunities portal at SAM.gov. The site can be used to search, monitor and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire federal contracting community.
The General Services Administration (GSA) contracts for a variety of Information Technology and Communications products and services. Federal agencies, and in some cases state governments, are eligible to purchase their IT requirements from the GSA contract vehicles. Information on targeted opportunities is available at http://www.gsa.gov/technology.
