GSA Launches New Single Professional Services Schedule
On October 1, 2015, GSA launched the new single Professional Services Schedule (PSS) giving federal agency acquisition professionals the ability to obtain total contract solutions for their complex professional services requirements using one contract vehicle. Reducing eight single Schedules contracts to one, the new PSS contract provides access to the same professional services that GSA has always offered but in one easier to use contract environment. Additionally, for both industry and GSA, the new single PSS eliminates significant contract duplication and workload previously associated with negotiating, administering, and auditing multiple contracts.
By reducing the number of contracts supporting the Professional Services category of spend, GSA will eliminate more than 700 contracts resulting in an estimated five year savings of $3.95 million, and sustained savings of $1.29 million annually thereafter.
The single PSS is one of several FAS initiatives underway to ensure that GSA contracts meet the needs of the federal acquisition community as we work to help the government be more efficient and effective, while also reducing costs and redundancies. Another is Category Management, introduced to streamline and simplify the federal acquisition process, and allow the government to make smarter buying choices.
