Janesville company wins $84.5 million bid to make grenades for Iraqi military

Defense contractor Amtec Corp. of Janesville has received an $84.5 million U.S. Army contract to supply grenades for the Iraqi military.

The work will be done in Janesville with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2018, the U.S. Department of Defense said in a contract notice.

Amtec was the only bidder for the work solicited through the Army’s Rock Island (Ill.) Arsenal.
