SUMMARY:Cyber Friday: A Deep Dive into DFARS 252.204-7012 - Looking beyond NIST 800-171 r1
DESCRIPTION:While the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) continues to evolve and take form\, DFARS 252.204-7012 is still the active cyber security clause/requirement for defense contractors. Those who are loosely involved with defense contracting know about the clause\, its relationship to NIST 800-171 r1 and two very well-known requirements – The System Security Plan and The Plan of Action. These requirements are very important but together\, they do not satisfy all requirements of this DFARS clause. This webinar will review these requirements in addition to all of the other required actions of this clause and references that can be used to answer questions and develop a company’s program. \n  \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute \n  \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nView a schedule of all Cyber Friday webinars. \n

SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: The Path to CMMC Level 3
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION FOR WEBINARS WILL CLOSE 24 HOURS BEFORE THE START \nBy all accounts getting to CMMC Level 3 will be a significant undertaking for most if not all DoD Contractors and/or Subcontractors. It is a project – a major project that will require “a whole of company approach.” Senior leadership will have to recognize and embrace the purpose of these requirements. Additionally they will need to set the tone and direction for the company. They will have to identify resources and provide support necessary to develop\, integrate and manage the myriad of requirements and associated but not directly connected certification elements. This webinar will explore the technical requirements\, references and resources\, program development considerations and organizational considerations that will be required as part of a company’s certification efforts. \n  \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute \n  \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nTo view a schedule of all upcoming webinars CLICK HERE. \n

SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: The Spend to the End
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION FOR WEBINARS WILL CLOSE 24 HOURS BEFORE THE START \nThe closer we get to the end of the Federal Fiscal Year\, the closer we get to the start of the federal buying season. This webinar will explore how federal data can be used to better understand end-of-year opportunities\, and also general efforts that will assist in positioning the company to be more visible to select buying offices and locate biddable opportunities. \nJuly 1st is the start of the last quarter of the federal government’s fiscal year. The fiscal year might be winding down but the federal procurement landscape will continue to be vibrant\, unpredictable\, and will continue to offer opportunities for those who are prepared and ready as the Government ramps up to Spend to the End of the fiscal year – September 30. \nLast year (FY-19) almost 44% of the contract actions for the year and greater than 30% of the annual budget was expended during the fourth quarter. The last quarter of the federal year is an active one. However\, a tremendous amount of opportunity occurs during just one month – September. What is truly amazing is the amount of activity that occurs in the last day of the fiscal year –  September 30. On this one day in FY-19\, more than 26 million contracts with a value in excess of $12 Billion were awarded. \nNow is the time to explore this market and start your preparations. Don’t miss out on The Spend to the End. \nLike every year\, there will be challenges. However\, this year there may be greater challenges and more unknowns than in years past due to the Federal Government’s response and support to Coronavirus needs. Additionally\, companies should consider the following four dominant issues among others: 1. Maintain your SAM registration  – don’t miss out on an opportunity because your registration lapsed and is Inactive. 2. If you have a GSA Schedule\, make sure to review the recent MAS Mass Modification. Action is required by July 31. Miss this window and it is likely that you will miss out on opportunities. 3. Don’t overlook\, and certainly do not ignore\, information security requirements which include but are not limited to Cyber. 4. For companies selling to DLA via DIBBS\, review DLA Notices and DLA’s Master Solicitation and related documents. \n  \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute. \n  \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nTo view a schedule of all upcoming webinars CLICK HERE. \n

SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: Introduction to CMMC Level 1
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION FOR WEBINARS WILL CLOSE 24 HOURS BEFORE THE START \nWhether your goal is to be certified at CMMC Level 3 or higher\, in the near future\, all DoD contractors will have to show a mastery of 17 basic cyber-security requirements associated with CMMC Level 1. Mastering these 17 principle requirements is the first step. To be eligible for CMMC Level 1 coded DoD awards\, a company will\, at a minimum\, have to undergo formal review of their CMMC Level 1 processes and procedures and these will have to merit being “formally certified.” \nThis webinar will review key terms\, principle requirements and a suggested approach for developing a process with which to move forward in preparation for meeting these new and upcoming requirements. \nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute \nThis webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. \nView a schedule of all upcoming webinars. \n

SUMMARY:Acquisition Hour: Tools and Resources to Use for Gaining a Better Understanding of Your Federal Customers
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION FOR WEBINARS WILL CLOSE 24 HOURS BEFORE THE START \nDetermining customer value – Information needed for success. This webinar will explore the basic questions that should be asked and information sources that can be used by companies seeking to better understand their current customers and identify prospects. \nCustomers have varying needs and they often utilize a variety of contracting vehicles to purchase the goods and services necessary to support their operations. In fiscal year 2019\, 2\,725 contracting offices made awards classified under 1\,140 different NAICS codes. Of the more than $589 Billion awarded\, approximately 48% of the total was awarded using Delivery Orders and roughly 44% was awarded via Definitive Contracts. The implication is clear: not understanding your customer and their buying habits can potentially hinder a company’s chances for success. There are costs to Customer Acquisition and Retention. This is exactly the reason why each company should develop their own tailored Customer Evaluation tool. \nAs a first step\, companies should ask a variety of questions such as: \n\nHow do they buy – What procurement vehicles are used?\nWhat do they buy? Products/Services – MRO?\nHow competitive is the market? – Number of offers\nHow many contracts are awarded during a time period – what is their value?\nIs the market SB friendly?\n\nSpeaker: Marc Violante\, Wisconsin Procurement Institute \nThis webinar is eligible for 1.5 CPE credits. \nView a schedule of all upcoming Acquisition Hours.
