BP Smokehouse is a Woman-owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Disadvantaged (Native American) Owned Small Business that has grown and now provides catering services, produces BBQ sauces and salsa, and operates a restaurant in Tomah, Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Procurement Institute was approached by BP Smokehouse for assistance to complete their SAM registration, and obtain Bid Match services to locate and bid government contracts in the local area.
As a result BP has been able to successfully win several government contracts at Volk Field. This has led to steady employment for their current employees, increased their total number of employees, and increased their catering to commercial segments of their business. They were also chosen to provide catering services at the 10th Annual Volk Field Small Business Conference, where they received accolades from the 160 conference participants.
Since the start of our work with them, they have provided catering services to hundreds of personnel locally. They are selling their sauces in local stores and have become a popular restaurant for local citizens and travelers passing through the area.
What does the future hold? Because of their success winning government contracts, their popularity has spread throughout the region. They are making plans for possible expansion throughout the state of Wisconsin.
