Entrepreneurs, business owners and aspiring business owners are invited to attend “How Mobile Apps and Government Certifications Can Help Your Business” on Wednesday, June 7th, from 2:15 to 4:45 p.m. This training session will be held at the W.R. Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is presented by the Western Dairyland Women’s Business Center and Chippewa Valley Technical College.
The program will begin with a brief talk from Nancy Mistele, Director of the Office of Business Development at the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Mistele will explain how her department can assist small and large businesses throughout the state. The remainder of the program will be divided into three sessions:
Session 1: Basics of Selling to the Government
presented by Kim Garber, Wisconsin Procurement Institute
This presentation will cover the basics of selling to the government, including registration, certifications, and preparation of marketing materials, to target State, Local, and Municipal opportunities
Patricia Sullivan of WPI will be available to answer additional questions as well.
Session 2: The Women-Owned Small Business Program
presented by Mary Trimmer, U.S. Small Business Administration
This presentation will provide a detailed overview of the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program including the program’s history, program qualifications and the certification process.
Session 3: Mobile Applications
presented by Denise Woodford, Chippewa Valley Technical College
Do you have too much to do and just can’t get it all done? In this session we’ll explore applications that will aid you in becoming more productive. This session will focus on the latest tools, sites, and applications built to increase your business productivity while simplifying your everyday life.
Registration is $49 per person; scholarships are available for income-eligible individuals. This event is free if you are registered for the Western Dairyland Women’s Business Conference on June 8th!
