Representatives from military OEM Navistar Defense and commercial truck OEM Navistar are very interested in developing new supplier options for future builds. The team will present how they are organized and proceed through the bid process. The group will address the Non-Disclosure Agreement, quality and flow down requirements common in Navistar procurement. The team will provide a guide on how to make sure your products and company are within the Navistar supplier database.

Samuel C. Homsy Bio: Samuel C. Homsy is Vice President, Program Management at Navistar Defense. He is based in Navistar Defense’s engineering and logistics center in Madison Heights, MI. Prior to joining Navistar Defense, Sam retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service. While in the Army, Sam served in a variety of positions as a Combat Engineer Officer and an Army Acquisition, professional. His service included duty at Fort Ord, California with the 13th Engineer Battalion, 7th Infantry Division, 40th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division in Baumholder, Germany and the Combat Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany. In 1997, Sam spent three years as an Instructor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at USMA. As an Acquisition Officer, Sam was an Assistant Product Manager in the Office of the Product Manager, Construction Equipment/Materiel Handling Equipment in the Program Executive Office, Combat Support & Combat Service Support in Warren, MI. He also served as a staff Officer in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)). Sam became PM Light Tactical Vehicles in August 2006, also in Warren, MI. Sam retired from active duty in November 2009. Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from USMA and a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
