About our Speaker:

As the Consul General of Canada based in Chicago, Roy Norton represents Canada in Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. The Canadian Consulate General, which he heads, promotes Canadian interests – trade, investment, the environment, culture and academic relations being among the principal ones. The office also provides consular and passport services.

Until March 2014, Norton served as Canada’s Consul General to Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio, based in Detroit. From 2006 to 2010 he was Minister (Congressional, Public and Intergovernmental Relations) at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., with responsibility for the Canadian government’s relations with the U.S. Congress, as well as for media and public relations, cultural and academic relations, the interests of Canadian provinces & territories in Washington, D.C., the activities of Canadian legislators in Washington, and outreach to U.S. states.  Please click here for Mr. Norton’s full biography
