Kate Hill, President, Heartland Information Research (HIR)

Kate founded HIR in 1998 after 20 years of consulting for Fortune 100 clients and federal government agencies. Her passion is helping privately held companies gain access to the business and financial resources necessary for long-term profitable growth. The firm’s mantra captures her vision – ‘Help owners or find resources that will’.

Kate Hill graduated from the University of Maryland with an undergraduate degree in Statistics and Operations Research and a Master’s degree in Management Science. She has been an adjunct instructor for Cardinal Stritch, facilitated business classes for the Wisconsin Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) and the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC).

Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is a regional government agency that provides water reclamation and flood management services for about 1.1 million people in 28 communities in the Greater Milwaukee Area.  They serve 411 square miles that cover all, or segments of, six watersheds.

In this workshop you will gain insights into the workings of state and local government procurement process; identifying future contract opportunities through market research; connecting with the buyers; and getting started.
