Within the role of federal response there are significant differences between the occurrence of an event that causes damage to a large geographic area and that event being declared a disaster. Understanding the process, historical needs and what is necessary to be ready to respond as a contractor are essential to those companies interested in assisting with federal disaster response efforts.
